I have been writing, performing, and recording music with various bands for the past 40 years. I created Zebra Music LLC, an interesting business that is focused on creating music for radio, television, video, film, and the gaming industry.
I was born in Parma, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland. I learned to sing and play guitar by listening to bands such as Aerosmith, Bad Company, and Rush. Soon I found myself playing in bands performing covers and original material. My first band was Fallout, playing gigs at schools and venues around the Parma, Ohio area.
In 1981 I joined Archer, a local favorite which performed at all of the premiere clubs in Cleveland and surrounding areas. After Archer's demise, I wanted to move closer to the music industry in Los Angles and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona.
I formed Carnival in 1985. This band was one of the top drawing acts in Phoenix. One of my songs was chosen to be on KDKB's Arizona Sounds Volume 7 compilation album. Exposure from the album's release led to the band performing at large venues such as the Mesa Amphitheater (5000 seats). Carnival was also a two-time guest on KDKB's Arizona Backstage radio program.
The Music City Song Festival awarded me a "Top Twenty Five Finalist" award in 1989, which motivativated me to form a new band, Rotterdam. This band was nominated as one of the top seventeen bands in Arizona by Joel Samuel Productions' Backstage Pass.
In 1992 I formed Dirty Money, a blues based back to basics rock act. Dirty Money was a top drawing act performing in the Phoenix area until 1994. During this time I also also built an 8 track recording facility.
In 1995 I was seeking to stay in the music business in a new and exciting way, I formed Zebra Music. The company was an educational center providing instruction to musicians on the business side of the music industry. The Zebra Music web site was featured in the January 2000 edition of Keyboard Magazine as one of the "Top 25" music web sites on the Internet.
With a desire to get back into recording music, I formed Zebra Music LLC in early 2003. The company centers on creating music for radio, television, video, film, and the gaming industry. I also built a digital recording studio with the profits that I made from my musician educational center.
I have completed commercial scores for Motorola, Centerpoint, Gabriel's Angels, Grand Canyon Minority Supplier Development Council, and an open source video game named Charge Backstab. I have composed custom jingles for Brian Chevrolet a New Orleans based auto dealership as well as IBBFL which is a conglomeration of five auto dealers in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio.
My plans for Zebra Music LLC are to continue to create great music and add to additional tracks to my music library.
